McPherson, KS – Big first half propels Drovers past the Tigers in tough home loss
Elvin Rodriguez goes for 22 points and leads the Drovers past the Tigers. Drovers come into the week currently ranked #12 in the nation thanks to a 13-2, 8-2 SAC record. Tigers knew they would have their hands full today as the Drovers have only dropped 2 games against 2 other ranked or receiving votes teams (TXWES & SAGU).
Tigers would be paced by
Demario Moore who would chip in 14 points, followed by teammate
Reece Warren (12) who would struggle in the 1
st half, but would have a better 2
nd half to get to double figures.
USAO would control most of the game as they would shoot efficiently from the field (.479) and beyond the arc (429). They would also hold the Tigers to (.324) from the floor and (.270) beyond the arc.
Tigers will enter an important stretch against MACU (13
th), SAGU (18
th), & TXWES (20
th) to finish out the SAC in a tight race for the top 8 to reach the SAC conference playoffs. Tigers currently sit #8 at 9-6 (3-5 SAC) with a slight advantage over OPSU for 9
th at 4-6 (3-6 SAC).
Tigers will quickly turn around and play MACU this Saturday in Oklahoma City, OK.
Go Tigers!
