Lady Tigers bounce back with 5-2 win over Lady Rams

MCPHERSON, Kansas – The Central Christian Lady Tigers rolled to a 5-2 conference win to secure a spot in the SAC tournament.

Alexa Riddle scored the ice breaker in the first eight minutes of the game off an assist from Rachel Schlagel to put the Tigers up, 1-0. Later in the half Sophia McConnell, scored the Tigers 2nd goal, giving the Tigers the 2-0 advantage.

Before the half would end the Lady Rams cut into the Tigers lead with a goal at the 37:50 mark and the Tigers held the 2-1 lead after the end of the half.

In the 58th minute Rachel Schlagel scored, giving the Tigers a 2 goal advantage, 3-1. Rams would answer with a goal of their own in the 63rd minute to cut the Tigers lead down to 1.

Tigers showing resilience to the Rams consistent charge to get back into the game scored seconds later with another goal by Alexa Riddle as Tigers go up 4-2. To continue the momentum Lisette Whiteside scored in the 74th minute to put the Tigers up 5-2.

Tigers held the advantage in shots (13-5), shots-on-goal (7-5), and corner kicks (6-1).

UP NEXT

Central Christian improves to 12-4-1, 4-4 SAC. They currently are T-5 in conference and can finish over .500 for the first time in conference play since joining the Sooner.

Tigers will host Oklahoma City on Nov. 2nd, kick-off at 5:00 p.m.
