MCPHERSON, Kansas – The Central Christian Lady Tigers (10-3-1, 2-3 SAC) are starting to make their presence known in the Sooner Athletic Conference. They not only secured their 10
th win of the season, but after starting 0-3 in conference, they have won their 2 latest.
Things started off great for the Tigers as the first play of the game resulted in a goal from Senior Forward
Alexa Riddle which would be her 6
th goal in 5 games. The Lady Lions though, made the early adjustment and kept the Tigers at bay and allowed some offense of their own. In the 29' minute the Lions would score the equalizer as the ball was just kicked over and out of the reach of the Tiger goalie,
Lizbeth Garcia. Despite the great start, Tigers and Lions found themselves locked up at 1-1 heading to the 2
nd half.
Disappointed to not have the lead, despite holding the advantage on shots didn't keep the Tigers from sticking to pressure the SAGU defense. The Tigers put 6 shots on goal in the 2
nd half compared to the Lions 1. SAGU goalie had a great game in the net totaling 8 saves and 5 in the 2
nd half. The difference in this game came in the 56' minute, when
Shaela Leahy scored what would be the game winning goal.
Both the Tiger offense and defense played a crucial part in this victory, as SAGU didn't just give them the win, but had to earn all 90 minutes.
The Lady Tigers offense shined brightly in this competition and held the advantage in shots 25-10, shots-on-goal, 10-5, and corner kicks 7-2.

COACHES QUOTE
Head Coach
Cole Ouren
"I am extremely proud of the team performance tonight. Our sideline was energetic and positive throughout the game and I believe they are a big part of the final result of the game. This would be in addition to the turnaround in the second half. With that, the team did an excellent job applying information given at halftime. While we were successful in the first half, it was not to our standards nor satisfaction. However, the second was significantly better. As a whole the team worked extremely hard and deserved the result."
