STERLING, Kansas – Sterling College handed Tigers their 3
rd straight loss since their SAC win over Science & Arts in 3 sets (25-10, 25-9, 25-14).
Aniya Owens led the Tigers with 3 kills and a career high 4.0 blocks – while
McKenzee Cook registered 6 assists.
Destiny Espinoza scooped out 12 digs to lead the team and
Arianna Roach scored 2 aces.
The Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start set 1 before a service error gave the Tigers their first point of the match. The Tigers and Warrior traded the next couple of points before the Warriors go on a 17-7 run to take set 1 25-10.
Tigers draw the first point of the match before Sterling would score 3 unanswered points to retake the slight 3-1 lead. Tigers then would cut the lead down to 1, but the Warriors responded with 7 straight points to jump to a 9-2 lead. Tigers managed the game to 13-6, but the Warriors go on a 12-3 run to end set 2 25-9.
Warriors started the set off with the first point, but this time the Tigers scored 3 straight points to take their biggest lead of the night, 3-1. The Warriors were able to score the next two points to even the score back, before the Tigers regained the lead back on the next point to go up 4-3. From there the teams battled back and forth with a 1 lead change as the Warriors would hold the slight advantage 10-9. This would be the closest the match would ever be as the Warriors go on a 9-2 run and build a 8 point lead, 19-11. Tigers string together 3 more points to score their highest set of the night at 14, as they fall to the Warriors 3-0.

th, the ladies will travel to Fort Worth, TX to take on Texas Wesleyan @ 6:00 p.m. Tigers will stay in Texas and travel to Waxahachie, to take on the Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Oct. 16
