McPherson, KS – September 12
th, 2020
Tigers wrapped up their 3-game home stand this weekend. On Friday evening the Tiger opened up with a game against Sterling College which they would drop 3-0. Early Saturday morning the Tigers had a triangular match against Mayville State University and Kansas Wesleyan University. Tigers wouldn't be able to get anything going against Mayville as they would fall 3-0. Tigers would try to flip the script against Kansas Wesleyan but would come up just short as they would fall 3-1 and 0-5 on the season.
Coach
Ryan Webb had this to say on the weekend matches:
"I have been stressing to our girls from the very first day they arrived on campus"
"We need to make sure we are better than the day before. Little progress individually creates big progress as a team"
"Also, I am very proud of the freshman growing right before our eyes on the court"
Senior
Morgan Cook and Freshman
Zola Moore would pace the Tigers in Kills over the home stand as they would each have 14 apiece. This would include 9 for Morgan in the match against Kansas Wesleyan and 10 for Zola in the game against Kansas Wesleyan.
Sophomore
Kiarrah Carlisle would have a great home stand as she would add 54 assist to her total for the year, including a season high 30 assist in the game against Kansas Wesleyan. Freshman
Jacque Freeman would add 39 digs including a season-high 20 in the game against Kansas Wesleyan.
The Tigers are looking to take the positives from this home stand and apply them while they are on the road this upcoming week.
Tigers will be starting off their "road trip" against cross-town rival McPherson College on the September 15
th @ 7:00 p.m. & finishing their road trip against Bethany College on September 19
th @ 1:00 p.m.
Go Tigers!
