Women's Soccer losses shootout against SCU

McPherson, KS – The Central Christian College Lady Tiger soccer team (4-3) took a tough 4-2 loss to SAC opponent Southwestern Christian University in a pre-conference match.
The Lady Tigers are coming off a match against fellow SAC foe USAO Drovers in which they would drop 2-0.

The beginning of the game wouldn't start how the Tigers planned as the SCU Eagles would put the Tigers in an early 2-0 deficit within 25 minutes of the game. Alyssa Emery would finally calm the Tigers down with a fantastic goal to cut the deficit in half and put the Tigers right back into the game.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, Goldie Bougher (GK) would have to come out of the match early with an injury forcing the Tigers to turn to their defender Clara Munger to finish the 1st half in goal and their other defender Emma Bressler to finish the 2nd half in goal.

The 2nd half for the Tigers would start out promising as Tiger Forward Alexa Riddle would erase the early deficit and tie the game with 26 minutes to go. Just as the Tigers seemed to get the momentum on their side, the Eagles responded with a goal of their own to pull ahead 3-2. Tigers would then be forced to play more aggressively on the offensive end which would leave their defense vulnerable and Eagles would counter in the 78 minutes to add another insurance goal and Eagles end Tigers comeback and win 4-2.

Cole Ouren, Coach of the Lady Tigers said this on today's match:
"It's always frustrating to lose and this is particularly true in a game like today. We simply did not play good enough to truly compete for a full 90 minutes. In spite of a poor performance, which starts with me and the coaching staff, the team did well in rallying back from an early 2 goal deficit. We will continue to grow together as a family and build upon our success."

"We want to call particular attention to Clara Munger and Emma Bressler. Both stepped in and made significant contributions as they filled in for Goldie Bougher who was injured with a dislocated finger."

Tiger's next match will be on October 30th, when they take on Wayland Baptist in Plainview, TX @ 6:00 PM
Go Tigers!
