Men's Soccer Headshots

Aaron Hoxie

Coach Hoxie is entering his tenth season in charge of the Tiger program.  The Tigers are coming off of a historic season by their standards as they qualified for the NCCAA National Tournament for the first time, finishing fifth out of eight teams.  The success would continue with a Sooner Athletic Conference playoff run to the championship game, losing in penalties.  “It was a really fun season last year.  I really enjoyed having the player’s year around because we could have a proper soccer season with recovery, weights, and training sessions, kids could really focus on their craft.  I think this contributed in many ways to our overall success.  The boys were able to change the direction of the program, and the legacy they left behind will resonate.”  Coach Hoxie added.
The 2021 season will return to its normal format.  While Coach Hoxie is not thrilled about this decision, he understands that it is really about the players instead.  “I think that there was enough of a positive case made to have the sport played through the academic calendar as it is overall better for the student athlete experience.  However, the legacy that was left from the previous team is a firm building block for the current guys to operate from.  I am excited to have them come in because they’ve already got the tools in place for their success.”
